The National Emergency Number Association is an organization whose mission it is to foster the technological advancement, availability, and implementation of a universal emergency telephone number system in the United States. In carrying out its mission, NENA promotes research, planning, training and education.

NENAs annual conference and other meetings Serve as a platform to bring together industry leaders to discuss matters such as next generation, education and training, operations technology and policy issues for the betterment of the 9-1-1 public safety sector
Regulatory and Legislative Responsible for NENAs relationships and interactions with all levels of government
Technical and Operations Committees Dedicated to making the 911 service system more efficient and developing standards, guidelines, benchmarks, and resources to help manage the nations 911 systems.
