Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation
Overview
Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation was founded in 2005 in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Firehouse Subs co-founders, Chris Sorensen and Robin Sorensen, traveled to Mississippi where they fed first responders as well as survivors. As they traveled back to Florida exhausted and exhilarated, they knew we could do more and the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation was born. Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is dedicated to impact the life-saving capabilities and the lives of local heroes and their communities.

Life Saving Equipment Donations
$6.5mEquipment donations impact millions of families and individuals in communities throughout the country. The firehouse subs public safety foundation's reach continues to grow. In 2017, 367 public safety organizations were awarded in 40 states and puerto rico. Many public safety entities now have the critical life-saving equipment needed to respond to emergency situations. These tools can be, and have been the difference between successful or fatal outcomes.
Prevention and Education
$242kPrevention education tools allow first responders and public safety organizations to reach out to schools, civic organizations as well as senior citizen facilities. Raising awareness and offering education opportunities have helped citizens better understand how to prevent the tragedy of accidental deaths due to carbon monoxide poisoning, smoke detector maintenance and in-home hazards. Fire extinguisher training and safety programs empower members of the community to be better prepared in recognizing the potential for a dangerous situation to occur and having the ability to minimize the hazard.
Disaster Relief
$137kThe ability to react swiftly to natural and/or man-made disasters has been a key area of growth in funding for the firehouse subs public safety foundation. With a network of firehouse subs restaurants throughout the country, the foundation is able to support immediate disaster relief by using countless resources for food preparation and delivery. The restaurants offer a location for fundraising which will help with the purchase of critical equipment for first responders, allowing them the resources to provide the highest level of search and rescue operations available. The dollars donated to disaster relief doesn't begin to paint the full picture of how many lives are touched during these events. From victims, volunteers and other nonprofit organizations, the foundation is able to positively impact life-saving capabilities and collaborate with like organizations at the scene.
