Global Ties U.S., formerly known as the National Council for International Visitors, is a non-partisan, 501 non-profit organization established in 1961 to promote excellence in citizen diplomacy. It is based in Washington, D.C., in the United States.

Global ties u.s. Provides its members - from large, national organizations to smaller, community-based ones across 45 states and 19 countries - with connections, leadership development, and professional resources to ensure they are the strongest, most effective organizations they can be. Our services include: 1) national leadership and representation; 2) resources for nonprofit management; 3) professional development and training 4) financial resources in the form of sub-grants 5) educating and engaging congress; 6) international exchange program development and implementation; and 7) technology and communications support.
