Outdoor Afro Leadership ProgramOutdoor Afro is now the nation's leading, cutting edge network connecting more than 36,000 people to outdoor recreation opportunities in nearly 30 states. We do this by training a cohort of national leaders from diverse backgrounds who help redefine what outdoor leadership is. Outdoor Afro programs lead families in camping, hiking, and paddling experience - many for the first time. Our programs help participants embrace conservation ethics and motivate people to take better care of themselves, our community, and the planet for all living species. Trained 80 leaders to help connect over 36,000 people to outdoor experiences nationally.Sponsored 40 youth and their families to do white water river adventures. Sponsored over 200 people to have first time camping experiences.Sponsored leaders to travel to Tazania and lead the first all-Black expedition to hike Mt. Kilimajaro.Sponsor ongoing monthly outdoor recreation and conservation activities for youth and their families in 30 US states.
