Lindsey Kay founded Paws and Stripes in 2010 after her ex-husband, an Army veteran, came home from combat with post-traumatic stress disorder and a traumatic brain injury.
Providing service dog pairing and training, using shelter dogs, for veterans diagnosed with ptsd and/or tbi. Veterans are not required to pay any fees for the program services to enroll. Veterans are given on-call training support, weekly classes, training and workshops, mental health support, canine training equipment, initial veterinary care for their dog, continuing education for graduated veteran-dog teams for life, and case management.
