178 children are learning and developing the five core character traits of courage, respect, community, discovery, and craftsmanship. Scholarships were granted to 60 unduplicated children at all grade levels. Students spent over 100 days in the field studying topics ranging from hydrology, water quality, wild fires, ecology, soils, plants and animals, and forest management. Students individually have met with over 100 local experts and 23 local organizations for field and service work. Classes target a 16-to-1 student/teacher ratio. The 2017-2018 school year was the sixth year for pre-k through 8th grade and fourth year for high school.
